Region View

The region visualization is useful when trying to find the demographic and socioeconomic indicators for a selected region.

Page Layout

The page contains the control bars (top and bottom) and the data visualization of region view.The graph below shows the annotations of layout of the region view and the annotations are directed by the blue arrows.

The layout includes the title of current visualization (top center), the demographic and socioeconomic indicators (main body), and the year slider (bottom).

What the plot represents?

The age pyramid on the left showing the age-sex structure of the selected population and a summary statistic is listed below the pyramid. Next to the age pyramid are the nine indicators calculated using census data. Each indicator is a percentage and value is visualized in the bar graph and in actual number. Note that the maximum value of the bars may vary. The grey line with red dot represents the indicator values for the benchmark.

Features

The graph below shows the annotations of the features in the region view and annotations are directed by the blue arrows.

In the region view, the plot is mostly static except for the following features: 1) change the selected year using year slider; 2) access the methodology document by clicking the "i" icon next to the indicator name; 3) download the current view as an image by clicking the camera icon; and 4) change the region of focus by a) using the search panel; b) selecting a region in other view and switch back to the region view and the selected region will be carried over.
